Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Who are the Toltecs?

A. The Toltecs began as an intentional community of artisans and scientists. They came together around 970 AD to build Teotihuacān, a wondrous metropolis near modern-day Mexico City. They gathered for the purpose of living in accordance with their principles. The Toltec traditions have survived for over 1,000 years. It is these traditions that we seek to bring to the new generations.

Q. What is the Law of Thelema?

A. The Law of Thelema implies that ?Every man and every woman is a star? (Book of the Law)?that each Being has a True Will uniquely their own. To shine, finally, with their own light and according to the dictates of their own Genius is the birthright of all.

Q. What do those associated with The Tequihua Foundation believe?

A. Artists, speakers, and volunteers of The Tequihua Foundation believe in acting consciously, behaving responsibly, and doing no harm.

Q. What does The Tequihua Foundation bring to the community?

A. The Tequihua Foundation makes accessible ancient, rare, and little-known arts that feed the human spirit in a manner scarcely available elsewhere. This is done through crafting handmade items, giving performances, and producing literature, all in accord with Toltec principles. These goals are accomplished by partnering with other local arts organizations, corporate sponsors, and grant makers. Thus, The Tequihua Foundation enriches lives in ways both subtle and profound.
